I was there two weeks ago for sunrise, and, after hearing all the horror stories, was dreading the expected crowds. To my great surprise, I was the only one there with a tripod. One other guy with a DSLR, no tripod, and maybe about a dozen others with smartphones, and everyone was very polite.
