Delighted to see you here - but that’s an old post. I quit in January 2024. I haven’t really started any threads - just responding to others for the moment. Looking forward to your ideas.

As a former (very former) nun, I am looking forward to reading this! I’ve never got as much done in a day as I did when I was in the convent - amazing efficiency, minimalism, conviviality. That communal experience has been invaluable in my subsequent incarnations - in academia, Hollywood, mom-life.

We learned it in first grade. Along with other nightmare-producing songs - like Streets of Laredo. So that’s a lifetime of creepy mini-traumas. One cannot unlearn them.

Terribly overrated, “nice”. Interesting, acerbic, civil, dynamic , compelling, reasonably courteous, funny, compassionate, tender, moving, deep, intelligent, perceptive, and respectable, rather outweigh “nice”. Not to mention kinda cute. (And yes I will put that quotation mark before the full stop.)
