The hotel owes the event an explanation and at a minimum a partial refund of their expenses. This is a shit show and is on the hotel for not adequately protecting its guests. I hope they get the guys and people are okay.

Couple weeks. And the only ones I've heard of require me to give them money to get money back. Calling it a "small fee". If I had the money to give, I'd be giving it.
