I'll redo the heart portion in video format (i thought i did), but I just didn't want to leave yall hanging for the quilt block this week 🙈

Cut 1/4 inch away from sewn line. Then press. Ta-dah, the first part of our quilted block 😍
January 28, 2025 at 10:35 PM
🎉Home stretch for the quilted heart. Take the 2.5" squares from Fabric 3. And place them right sides together on the Rectangle components we made earlier. Draw the diagonal lines as shown and sew on the lines!
January 28, 2025 at 10:28 PM
Repeat all steps to the other fabric 1 Rectangle. You can see the top of the heart coming together 😍
January 28, 2025 at 10:23 PM
Once you sew on the line, cut 1/4 inch from that line. Repeat the steps for the adjacent corner. Fabrics right sides together, draw a diagonal line, sew on line, and then cut!

Lost track of time! But I am here to help guide. Let's start simple with the center heart. Take one of the rectangles from Fabric 1, and (1) 1.25 square from Fabric 3 and align them as such. Right sides together. Mark line as indicated and sew along the line.

Block #1 of 4. The finished size of each quilt block should be 12.5"x 12.5"
This mini quilt-a-long is Valentine's Themed, but feel free to make it scrappy! For the best results, pick two lighter fabrics and 2 darker fabrics. Sew tomorrow ❤️

I hope the potential buyers of Joann Fabrics do not liquidate. Miss J deserves so much better than that 😭
January 26, 2025 at 6:04 PM
With Joann Fabrics in unstable waters, where is everyone buying their cotton fabrics? I'm also curious about where else to buy Flannel fabrics

Working on the first Quilt block cut list. For the whole project, it will use 4 fabrics, but feel free to make it scrappy! Although beginner-friendly, the Quilt A-long does require the base knowledge of 1/4 seam allowance. The blocks will look more complicated than they are, so have no fear ❤️

Uhhh guess I'll start re-drafting the design...

More people are interested in the Mini Quilt A-long than anticipated. 🙈

We start Monday 1/27. 4 blocks with a lil sashing to complete a nice wall panel/ bed accent cover.
January 25, 2025 at 11:38 PM
Quilt A-long would be beginner-friendly but anyone would be welcome to join. The project will Kick off this Monday! 01/27/25

Posting to test interest. 3 weeks until Valentine's Day! I've been sitting on a mini Quilt A-long project. 4 total blocks plus a little sashing to complete it all. This will be my first time facilitating one, so it will def be a learning curve, but will be a good indicator for future ones! Ya' dig?
