Very glad to be done with this now, I took extensive notes and I felt like I gave this as fair of a chance at possible. I think some people maybe be surprised by just how positive I am in it.

That's all I got to say about it, I won't be dedicating any more braincells to it except to laugh at the ending once in a while.

Not that Devil May Cry is high art to begin with, the games have an enjoyable chuuni vibe not unlike most Shonen or Tokusatsu and this could have followed in those footsteps to be mid and inoffensive. Instead, it's just bad.

Unfortunately it goes about this an unrefined and adolescent way with hamfisted dialogue and a teenager’s idea of political commentary. While there are good elements in here, when you hear the writer's voice (which is often) it's overshadowed by its lack of craft and desperation.

The breathy white girl version of Devils Never Cry at the end of every episode makes me want to kill myself.

I wasnt after the Ronaldo addition but this just locks in that I made the right choice. The SNK boycott continues.

Its a joy to hear Kevin Conroy, the man is a pro.
The comedy moments were 95% miss but the 5% that hit were good.
I feel the same as when I saw the early clips, if this show was edited down a little there is definitely something here. It feels confident in all the wrong ways.

There was stuff I liked. Some moments of the fight scenes were definitely very Dante but undercut badly at times with the entirely out of character writing.
Johnny Yong Bosch's delivery is fantastic and really elevates the poor material (get him for Dante in the future).

Again, it’s not like its high art but them having the vibe of old warrior friends instead of weird goons is just more interesting.
