My dad and his family having immigrated here from Iran during the revolution, and thought I would enjoy this book as the author is also Iranian. It was one of the first times I connected with a book and its characters on a cultural level.

I thought really long and hard about which book I wanted to showcase—I knew I wanted it to be a diverse book I really connected with.
Wave was recommended to me by a teacher who knew I am Iranian-American.

I am an advocate for educational equity and am constantly looking to ensure programming and instruction is as inclusive as possible.
