1, Fed courts are overburdened, and we need new districts. Each district should have one Supreme Court justice, overseeing it, but they should rotate. 2, SCOTUS itself is overburden and more justices are needed for it to process its work. 3, Six more seats would give us a 9 to 6 majority

I’d go one step further. Their behavior is not “reminiscent“ of authoritarian resumes. It is authoritarian. And the United States is now a dictatorship. A soft one, but a dictatorship, nonetheless, with neutered courts, universities, and media. As official and stochastic violence.

They think they’re being edgy, but they’re just being pricks. At the end of the day we’re on the same side, the difference being that you and I are not contemptuous of them and don’t think that Orwellian thought police are less terrifying than Orwellian thugs on the street. They need to read 1984.

Also, he’s presenting a strawman argument. Who has he seen that is more upset by Kimmel than by masked thugs, beating people senseless, kidnapping them and sending them to foreign death camps? Look at the timelines of people who are outraged by Kimmel. They’re vociferously outraged by all of it.

And what we’re saying is that it is not mundane, not even “comparatively“ to the horrible brutality toward “enemies of the state” including immigrants. There’s nothing mundane about the complete eradication of free thought and free speech because it is the cornerstone of our ability to resist.

I guess you just don’t get it. I’m not personally insulted by some 20-year-okd I’ve never met and never will meet. I’m distraught at what’s happening on the streets and now the complete suppression of speech, by a government official. It’s terrifying esp to those who’ve seen totalitarianism

It’s actually not funny. Because suppressing even comedians is one of the things that they do in full-blown dictatorships. You can’t even make a joke about the king or his followers. But guess what? You’ll have plenty of time to learn these lessons, and you’ll keep learning them long after I’m dead

“Nathan” who thinks it’s funny that “boomers” are upset by the Kimmel firing because he thinks they don’t care about ICE. Iron fisted control of the media is the cornerstone of a fold dictatorship, and without it, no one will hear ever know about the grotesque abuses that lie ahead.

1. your smug comments about “boomers“ are insulting and don’t help to build any unity. 2. without the freedom to speak about things on television, or the Internet, or on the street, (try living under Franco), nobody will hear about ICE anyway.

You’ve never lived under a dictatorship, have you? After a few years living under this one you’ll come to appreciate the gravity of not being able to say or think what you want.

Sorry, honey, but the same people outraged by the elimination of free speech are also outraged by what’s happening with ice. Get off your fucking high horse. And by the way, free speech is the cornerstone of all of our freedoms. Even those of anarchists.

The grotesque disrespect is the point. It sends a message to Congress that it is a useless appendage, not worth regarding in any way. And thus, that the Trump is indeed a king.
