Love Miraslova Chavez's book, Migrant Longing. LaShawn Harris's work is excellent and I read it often- great example. The intro to Shennette Garrett Scott's intro does a fantastic job. I also read tons of memoir and fiction, thought about what adapted to scholarship then experimented a lot ;)
