I agree. I've seen and been part of some of those decisions. But assuming I have the capacity to understand the course of my suffering and its impact on others, I want the legal authority to choose the time and manner of my own end, and to seek assistance if necessary.

“wherever scientific knowledge sees no purpose in suffering, then those who suffer can be understood as having no purpose as well.” But I don’t want to surrender my agency to some scientist, politician, or priest so they may decide my purpose is to suffer for their ends.
