My magnolia stellata is about to burst. It was my dream for so long to have my own house with a garden, a magnolia tree, a piano and a cat. Nearly 10 years after realising that dream, it is still very precious.

Christmas 2024, first my parents have spent apart in 59 years of marriage. Dad and I just had Christmas dinner and will spend tomorrow with Mum in hospital. Six weeks ago she was playing the piano, reading and getting around independently. Now she is immobile, confused and dependent. Heartbroken.
