Sister Moon, super moon at perihelion (closest to the Sun in her orbit), full this morning, shining on tonight!

Sister Moon saying goodnight, not yet full, but a moonbow now.

Having been a bit busy lately, this pic has been languishing in my files for a couple of weeks. It’s what’s new in Chicago.

P. S. As of yesterday, there’s a new vibe in the city 🏙️ - positive, happy, hopeful, like a newly sunny day, along with the sense of being part of a larger, ☀️ sunnier future.

Sometimes in Chicago, it’s just a beautiful day.

This was yesterday morning, and the wonderful weather held today for the marathon.

So thrilling and joyful to see the marathon and finishers!

50K runners, 18K+ run for charities, last year raised $36M. About 1/3 are from other countries. 2M local spectators turn out.

Victory!

Looks like the State of Illinois will win its case from the hearing today.

And, as Pluto goes direct Monday, everything happening now will change/reverse course. More on that on Substack Sunday. 🌠

This photo was posted today on CBS News Sunday Morning. In her eyes we see wisdom, kindness, and profound spiritual love and understanding. We also see shrewdness, discernment, determination, and above all, grace.

Now look again deeply into the eyes of public figures today, and see what you see.

Persist! The fight you feel comes from your conviction of what is right and needed. Theologian Frederick Buechner said that our calling is where our deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet. It will find a way, and you will find your way. Persist!

To Donald Trump:

When this is all someone has, you don’t shuffle them around or put them in jail. You find them housing, help them clean themselves and their possessions, find them food, and help them find work and restore them to normal.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Public libraries have taken up offering internet training and use, but I wish there was a way for USPS to move forward to include public offering of new ways of communicating. Without it masses of people will be left behind. With it everyone can be included in today’s ways along with postal service.

Happy Fourth of July to all! Celebration this year is more important than ever.

New light is emerging from darkness.

“…Encourage the fainthearted, help the weak…test everything; hold fast to what is good; abstain from every form of evil…grace be with you” (Bible, NRSVue, I Thessalonians 5:14-28).

This is the Seventeenth Church of Christ Scientists, at the intersection of honorary Yitzhak Rabin Way and Jerusalem 3000, roughly Wacker and Wabash in Chicago. Imposing enough during the day, but now glowing outside and in with Pride. It is in good company, and in great opposition.

The poem “Anyways”, often attributed to Mother Teresa, was written by 19 year old Harvard sophomore Kent M. Keith in 1968.
