I need a miracle to lose a little timber and gain some lung capacity in a matter of weeks. Failing that, you’d be donating to a very worthwhile cause anyway.

Had such a good reading summer it’s over two pictures this year! Not a mediocre one amongst them. Some were kindle so won’t make it onto the trollies, but all will be discussed on the first day back with the class. #MGFictionAddiction #EduSkyPrimary

When it’s term time, I rarely have a spare second to do anything which isn’t work-related. Summer holidays, and it’s having a chance to read, golf, run, oh and draw…apparently. #SummerHols #DaveDiscovers #EduSkyPrimary

Seriously, four days on residential outside day and night and nothing, get back to the school building and I’ve been bitten twice!!! #Residential #CreamCrackered #EduSkyPrimary

Another year comes and goes, and I can finally tick Oliver Twist off the old school show bucket list. For such a small cohort they did really, really well. #OliverTwist #Year6 #EduSkyPrimary

Destitute, alone, and without a friend…
We came, we saw, we sweated, but on reflection (now it’s all over) it was a great show to be part of.

I don’t know if people are putting their ticket requests in bottles and throwing them in the ocean, but sales are slow. Apparently I’ve been told tonight that we still have to do this shizzle, so I might as well promote it. #Stranded #StaPlayers #whydoidothistomyself

Fagin’s Den done and a good lining up for the streets of London side. I might just get this done, although I’ve still got a full-size coffin to make too - there’s a line I never thought I’d say. #OliverTwist #Year6 #EduSkyPrimary

Happy Father’s Day to those that celebrate. Go tackle that grass, or fire up that BBQ, or consistently hand out cash like you’re an atm to your children…no? Just me then. #FathersDay

As an English lead, I think this still remains the best part of my role bar none. #Books #RecommendedReads #EduSkyPrimary

Report writing INSET day today, but I thought I’d make a start on the set instead. Reports will be done in my own time later. A few hours to start one side of the rails. Fagin’s Den is underway. #OliverTwist #EduSkyPrimary

Really can’t call how this is going to go, but it’s an excuse to post this finely tuned athletic specimen with Connor Benn’s Mallorca-loving dad. #EubankJrBenn

Final Easter Hols read - ‘After’ by Padraig Kenny. If ‘The Last of Us’ and ‘I-Robot’ had little book babies, this is what would pop out. Sublime storytelling. I just hoovered it up.

Ssecond up from the Easter Hols reads was @hickesy.bsky.social second offering from Shadowhall. This ups the ante from book one and includes a creepy returning childhood friend - I know many who will want it from the trolley

Back in class tomorrow so time to put my Easter Hols reads on the trolley. First up Jennifer Killick’s ‘Serial Chillers - The Witch In The Woods’, when you have a class so insanely hooked by the Crater Lake and Dreadwood collections, this is going to be another hit. Loved it.

Traditional fish paella at the Mother’s on Good Friday.

Beats an Easter egg actually. Nothing says our Lord died for our sins like a British Bulldog Funko Pop. #WWF

Had just the nicest break being deflowered in Ireland.

My first time ever in Ireland, having the best few days. Love the way the lady in the bookshop in Lahinch (Lehinch depending which sign you look at) tells me to help myself to the world book day books for free when she heard I was a teacher. Don’t get that in England. #Ireland #EduSkyPrimary

Do I own a million mugs for coffee? Yes. Is one of my favourite mugs one with books on it? Yes. Are those books all adult ones? Yes. Have I just found the most perfect MG mug? Yes. Is it purchased and shipping to me in 3-6 working days? Hell yeah!! #EduSkyPrimary #Books #Coffee

That was a lovely Mother’s Day lunch with the biggest cheese portion on a cheese board I’ve ever been served. For perspective, that’s a main meal-sized plate. #mothersday2025 #fatty #ilovecheese

Why do I just know the twerp who was the driving force behind attaching bottle lids to bottles in the name of recycling, was also privy to the team meeting where they chose to stick wrapping paper shut with sticky labels. #genuis

Running gear laid out for the morning. Friend’s birthday curry tonight. I mean what could possibly go wrong!? I’m not exactly coming for you #WinterRun I’m more tiptoeing towards you in the hope you don’t notice me and I can just survive my way round.
