In case you’re wondering, it’s barely fall & our children’s hospital is already almost always full with kids boarding in the ER.

And the pediatric workforce is stretched thin.

Our system does not have the capacity to care for the influx of vaccine preventable diseases that is coming.

It is absolutely infuriating and depressing to see lifesaving medical interventions thrown in the garbage.

Law enforcement! If you ever are involved in rescuing a severely malnourished child from an abusive environment, please do not give them a lot of food. They are likely at risk of refeeding syndrome and should be given nutrition in the hospital setting.

Medical training does not need to be traumatic. Learning can happen without intimidation, abuse, and fear of others. #MedEd

There are two types of MOCA people. Those that wait until 11PM the night before a cycle ends to start questions and those that do them within 24 hours of getting the email. 😂

That 20mm ovarian “cyst” is likely a dominant follicle. Please don’t assume this is the source of abdominal pain or tell patients/families it must be removed. Everything isn’t the fault of the ovaries/uterus.

A common misconception about #eatingdisorders is that a desire for thinness is the inciting factor.

In reality, weight loss of any kind, regardless of reason, is often how it starts. It could be do to an illness, surgery, etc. In a genetically vulnerable person, this can start an eating disorder.

You know what my favorite part of my job is? Discharging patients from my practice. I love it when they don’t need me anymore. I have a whole “see you at Wegmans and feel free to send life updates if you want” speech and it’s the best. #eatingdisorders

It’s 2025. Vaccines save lives. I can’t believe this is where we are.

Somehow, even more scared today than when I posted this. 😐
I am terrified for kids’ health.

I feel like if men got endometriosis we would have figured out better ways to diagnose it by now. 🤔

If your New Year’s resolution involves weight loss or dietary changes, please ✨keep it to yourself✨ when you’re around children. Or anyone really, but especially children.

As a pediatrician during cold and flu season I feel compelled to state that cough suppressants aren’t effective for children.

The fact that seven fishes is a thing tells you all you need to know about how hardcore Italians are. Two, three, or four fishes aren’t enough. No. We have to go all in and do SEVEN like the extreme people we are. 🇮🇹🤌🐟
