I only caught the highlights so didn’t get to hear the usual (excellent) commentary.

It looked like Bursik made a couple of decent saves so was his distribution an improvement on Killip?

It sounds like he may have the number 1 spot nailed on until Schmid returns- do you agree?

Always enjoy the pod- keep up the gr8 work. We saw on Sat what a Murphy-less future would’ve been. Do u see Bianchini being with us after Jan if his last performance is anything to go by?

With injuries already mounting up- do we really have better squad depth than last season? Maybe in defence?

Love the pod.

If- & we don’t know yet- Nico is out for a while- do we have the depth in goalkeepers?

I thought Saints missed a trick- more dangerous balls into Killip and they’d likely have nicked the win. Maybe a testament to how our defensive performances on the road have improved since last yr

In what way? He pulled a strange face at the final whistle and seemed really grumpy in his post match interview.

Local derbies- especially this one always involve a bit pantomime- heroes and villains- it’s all part of the occasion and theatre..

Saints could & should’ve tested him a lot more & likely come away with the win had they managed more dangerous balls into the box

A draw was fair- we dominated the first half- second was far more even- defensively we did incredibly well.

Derby aside- a point against a side just down from the prem

I think he does this really well- the mystery about injuries and other off field stuff- it’s all harmless but helps add a bit of extra needle.

Marginal gains and all that….

An archetypal game of 2 halves. Could have been 1-0 up at half time, second half it was much more of an even contest.

Chappers was absolute quality- he adds so much to our pressing game.

With Nico off they should have done a lot more to test Killip. Hopefully nothing serious.

Happy with a point.

Loving the podcast- keep up the amazing work. What odds on Chaplin scoring the winner in the derby and re-signing for us permanently in January?
September 2, 2025 at 4:43 PM
With all the added minutes- did u make it to the church on time?
And once Lang went off (hopefully only a twinge)- what do u think about Segecic on the right? I thought he did better and Lang surely more suited down the middle? That said- Waddingham did well- positive signs of the depth in the squad

It was a cracking spectacle in the second half- pretty much everything you could ask for as a neutral! Shame we couldn’t Nick a point at the end. Segecic looked better on the right after Lang went off- maybe that’s where he should play next time…

Recruitment will obv be very different from last season. We await the quality signings. But if they don’t come- could this squad be good enough assuming we avoid so many injuries? It’s hard to see us splashing out so could the likes of Lane, Devlin and some of the other fringe players step up?

I must be getting old because that looks like a tasty set up I’d quite like!

No great surprise- certainly in terms of what he would say publicly anyway. Let’s hope what’s being discussed off the record is slightly different….

That’s why we voted leave isn’t it?

If we finish mid table, do u think this may give false reassurance to the Eisners despite how precarious it’s been 4 much of the season. Last summer’s recruitment was patchy. Jan was better but still so many loans. Will Mous & Hughes get the backing we need 2 thrive not just survive in the Champ

With the stag do now firmly on and from what little you’ve given away so far, we we think it’s going to involve sun and sand….. the key questions have to be:
Sliders or crocs?
Budggie smugglers or baggy Union Jack shorts?
Euros or pounds?
