Moody skies above Windmill Hill causewayed enclosure this morning. If you peer very hard you can just see Silbury Hill in the distance #BlowTheCobwebsAway #AveburyLandscape

Hot, hot, hot in the @nattrustarch.bsky.social Stonehenge Landscape this morning. Among the cooling shade of those trees (Luxenborough & Full Moon plantations) lie Bronze Age Barrow cemeteries

Not too shabby a view from my office window. Can never

A week ago today I was surrounded by the magnificence that is Karnak. It was our second visit - but you could spend half a lifetime exploring this amazing place #egyptology

It's a year ago since I fulfilled a lifelong ambition to visit the Bronze Age site of Akrotiri on Santorini. It's a truly extraordinary place. Buildings destroyed in a volcanic eruption c. 1600 BC still stand, some up to 3 storeys high, many with their contents. 🏺
