After Hitler was elected Germany’s leader on Jan 30, 1933, he immediately put his close supporters in key govt positions and took emergency powers. In just 53 days, he legally gained control of the govt, then started persecuting opponents, religious and sexual minorities, and those who helped them.

Racial microaggressions harm more than just the target—they hurt their loved ones, too.

Sandra’s story shows how witnessing subtle racism can evoke shame and frustration, but also inspire action.
