Well. Erie’s pretty gentle, at least comparatively.
(I grew up in Buffalo and have lived in Michigan for almost 20 years. Erie is definitely the outlier in this system)

Presumably with more fire resistance than the original flavor variety.
Hmm. Both would probably be pretty weak to a pressure washer.

At the moment, she's at McMurdo. She's there because she's the managing director of an NSF center to study the oldest ice cores. She'll only be at McMurdo for a bit, and then off to the Allan hills, where she'll for much longer, operating from tents.

I may have spent a weird amount of time figuring out whether it's possible my cats have the same sire without having to invoke mutations, based on just what I know of them and their dam.
Turns out: possibly!

Now, are you going with the traditional Greek elements, or the Wuxing?

Sometimes I use a bit of stock if I have any on hand and don't forget. Otherwise, a little bit of olive oil.

Um, lentils. Black pepper, garlic, ginger, salt. Sometimes a bit of lemon juice?
I'm experimenting with some peas and carrots this time. But normally, just lentils, water, and some spices that are safe for me.

So for lentil soup, I'm generally in the more Lebanese/Syrian realm than the Indian realm.

I've tried reading ingredient labels for curry mixes, and they are never specific enough for me to know if I could handle it. Sometimes they're specific enough for me know I couldn't, but nearly always includes unspecified "spices".
For Indian I'm more in the Garam masala zone.

I will essentially never eat anything labeled as a curry. My digestive system does not handle nightshades well. Any form of chili or bell peppers will make me violently ill.

I honestly basically never have celery on hand. It's water and cellulose and ... virtually nothing else.
I did remember to add a bit of olive oil given that I hadn't added the chicken stock.

I forgot when I was putting it together that I had intended to use some of last week's chicken stock in it, alas. I am experimenting a bit by adding some frozen vegetables for its final hour of cooking, after I've already blended the lentils.

Lentil soup turns out to be really easy to make if you have a slow cooker and an immersion blender. And I swear every time I read an article about a recent finding that some particular nutrient or vitamin is important, lentils are inevitable listed as a good source of it.

For those of you outside of the US, this is me heading off the very common types of replies that assume European or Japanese infrastructure:
1 - It's a ~2175 km difference between our respective cities.
2 - The only rail option I can find is 43.5 hours (plus 2hr layovers) and >4x the cost.
