Arts & crafts. Coffee. TTRPGs & tall tales. No AI.

He/him

Studied illustration a long time ago, OSR has reignited my want to create so treating this like a journal back into that. Mainly Mörk Borg & Shadowdark.
A machine is not a human despite how close they can operate or how blurry that line may seem. Humans have wants, needs and rights. Hammers and LLMs do not. I'm trying to stay civil and treat this conversation with respect, if you can't do the same then we both know there's no point in having it.

Who instructed the machine to reproduce the image regardless of whether it was produced via wet neurons or dry silicon? That's where the plagiarism comes into play.

And this is the same as prompting a computer to produce an image of a human and it outputting only white people, how?

It is not 100% plagiarism, that's gross oversimplification. Your brain may work similar to, but is not, a computer.

I have a very limited knowledge on Transformers in this context and my quick Google search isn't bringjg up much of use. Can you expand or link me something to read?

Would you recommend hairdressers use flamethrowers because it is a more efficient way to get rid of hair? No because you understand that it would cause lasting damage. It is the wrong technology for the job.

GenLLM has no place in something that should be process, not goal, driven
November 13, 2025 at 8:43 AM
That isn't quite the same as a uniquely tailored feed of constant dopamine inducing information that preys on your insecurities to sell you more, vote more and more right wing while subsequently reducing your ability to think for yourself. Its not the technology, it's the use of it.

Now apply that to a other subjects we need an imagination for, philosophy, politics etc. And in a couple of generations we have a totally docile population.
November 13, 2025 at 8:32 AM
It's a way to undermine development of critical thinking and ultimately an imagination of a better future. I will try to find the source, but I saw somewhere a class of students seeing great art and saying they don't believe a human could make it. And this is within a few years of GenLLM.

We need to primarily think of art and arts as a process rather than a goal. Gen LLMs are good for pattern recognition, finding the efficient routes between A and B, be that a map route or spotting an oddity in a data set. Art is not a thing to be streamlined, IMHO.

I used to think similarly, but photography wasn't developed to manipulate and degrade minds. AI is being used to install fascism, photography made journalism stronger. It is inherently a different beast

The most common question I got through the whole month when telling friends about doing Mörktober was 'what do you win? '.
