If someone talks to you about biofuels, file them in the bin with the snake-oil salesmen talking about carbon capture and storage.

Like CCS, biofuels are a fantasy🦄 designed to prolong the fossil fuel economy.

People think it's hugely important that the BBC is independent from the governement of the day, but fewer than half think it is currently independent from the government

Just look at this, Brexit is Farage's weak spot
October 9, 2025 at 5:02 PM
Even Reform voters think Brexit is shite.

We have to make Farage take responsibility for this mess.
October 7, 2025 at 9:44 AM
This is factually true. But so are the Conservatives. And increasingly, Labour.

Here it is. Rising immigration, declining crime. QED.

These are the FACTS. You won't hear them from Farage or Trump.

This is the reality we need to face up to in Britain

We have a very low birth rate, so if we don’t take migrants we’ll end up old and poor

Network Rail want you to think that their new scheme for London Liverpool Street Station is "heritage-led" - but just look at the extent of demolition. All that red stuff on these drawings.

This destructive scheme will strangle this busy central London station and must be stopped!

Remember by contrast that the Italian fascists banned traditional architecture in 1938, and then built only Modernism. Here's one by Terragni, decorated for the visit of Hitler, and a quote from Mussolini himself on opening a Modernist new town.

Architectural style itself is not political.

We've had a housing crisis ever since Thatcher stopped local authorities building public housing. The private sector has no incentive - of course - to build so much that it lowers prices to affordable levels. It was never ever going to work

Look at this, and tell me again why the Tories didn't want to investigate Russian influence in the UK?

Whose side were they on?

How it started. How it's going.

You just knew it in your bones.

Reform UK councillors don't even bother to show up to work.

Other spaces survived better and have been restored.

An amazing story of persistence by local people who refused to let the building be demolished.

The Bradford Odeon... 3rd biggest cinema in Britain when it was built. Left to rot for years. Now a concert venue again.

Left, as built. Right, today, restored to a single volume again after "crude" 1960s conversion. All the plaster detail was lost in the 60s😢
