Today Josie got out of the house while workers were here and left the front door open. She explored almost the road when I snatched her up and brought her inside. Shortly after she napped. Enjoy a moment of cat zen.

I have been away from this platform for some time and have limited lots of social media interaction. So, for your enjoyment the red rocks of Sedona. I know the nation is in the grips of authoritarianism but we need to find beauty to keep grounded and sane.

Our student government selected female faculty to feature for Women’s History Month. They got my tank wrong, I am assistant professor, but their recognition was terribly sweet and this means the world to me since it came from the students. Mvto/Thank you!

Today I received a copy of my husband’s new book about the Mvskoke traditionalist Chitto Harjo. A bit surreal to see my head shot of the hubby used on the book jacket.

Last semester my HIST 3723 Native American History students researched and created a mini museum exhibit that chronicles the history of the Cherokee National Female Seminary. A bright spot in this terribly troubled world right now.

While the world burns down around us sometimes we need a bit of softness and love and light. This little girl brings me love, warmth, companionship, and when I am overly anxious she purrs so sweetly.

Today I gave a public lecture at a museum, made time to get my hair done, did some shopping at my fave local businesses in Bartlesville and came home and relaxed after a busy week. Drive time= windshield time for the soul on a sunny, crisp bright blue sky day

Lately animals are more appealing to me than people, especially my Josie girl! With the heat, I have been providing large bowls of water for the little animals and birds to cool off. And this gorgeous hawk decided my backyard was a lovely safe hunting ground this morning.
