Fossil snail from Columbia. Live volcanic steam deposited emerald into the cavity left by the decayed animal and its shell.
I believe only one of these has been found, and I doubt the owner would part with it.

A Paraharpes (Hibertia) valcourensis from Laval, Quebec. Harpids are among the rarest trilobites in eastern Canada, but one section of an abandoned quarry in Montreal had a lot. If I had known the city was going to fill it in, I'd have gone there a lot more often.

An Ordovician crinoid from the Montreal area. ID'd as Archaeocrinus, but I don't think that's accurate. (Help would be apprciated). About 2.5".

Lake Superior taken two days ago: Nipigon Bay still iced in but the rest of the lake is clear: the winter wasn't cold. The St. Mary's River still hasn't broken up. And snow on both sides of the lake after a series of spring storms.
