You can observe the colony of endangered African penguins up close as you walk along designated boardwalks on rock-strewn Boulders Beach on the southern most tip of South Africa. The penguins are too cute for words.

Technology makes the world go round these days, and as much as I need it, I wish it wouldn't baffle me as much as it does.

I read and read and read and love it and read some more and then I become dismayed because my 'to read' stack never gets less. For every book I read, 1 or 2 get added to the pile. But then I rejoice because there is so much pleasure and entertainment there just waiting for me to revel in.

I cannot believe that we are already on the last day of the first month of the new year. It hardly seems possible. So much has happened in the world this month!

It has been a difficult day, but I'm home now and thankful to be able to unwind as I listen to some soothing music.

I want to be more like my dog: always forgiving and loving. He never fails to wag his tail and come running, even when he has been left alone or scolded.

This is my first step on this new literary journey. I'm eager to find out where it leads me.
