I had a really fun day today. I got to see the whole process of how to dub and mix audio for anime. We got to see a live session of a voice actor dubbing a show. We got to see the process for creating English scripts. And we made fun little story boards!!! Such a cool day.

I got a #rhinoplasty almost one year ago!! Listen, I tried to be happy about my nose, and I just couldn’t. So happy I did this. I feel like my nose looks so much more sharp and feminine. I really disliked that droopy tip and happy surgeon delivered a natural change!

My doggies are fluffy and cute. I love that we adopted Cafe (small pug), she’s brought a lot more excitement and joy to our lives. I really feel like she’s made Hero age backwards because she acts so much more like a puppy now.

The next book I’m reading is bell hooks’ all about love. Fun fact, bell hooks intentionally keeps her name in all lowercase. It’s amazing how little has changed when it comes to our characterizations of and discussions about love in today’s world.

I read I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki because of the title. How funny and silly. But it revealed to me how similar we all are, even across oceans. Depression, body image issues, loneliness, and anxiety are all far too common themes in our lives. It was a fun and interesting read.

On my journey to learning how to read for leisure, I picked Crying in H-Mart as my first book. This book poked at all the aches and pains I have with my own mother. It forced reflections of our daughter-mother relationship in ways I was not anticipating. I finished the book feeling a heavy sadness.
