Oh, this sounds interesting! I've registered. My specialism is the Galloway horse, and as part of my research I came across this Gillray cartoon showing the Earl of Galloway, Tory MP for Morpeth - as not very Scottish at all. ;) Caption is: "A Scotch poney, commonly called a Galloway".

I gave a talk at the Fell Pony Society today. Now I'm enjoying the evening with a McEwan's Export, some pictorial Fell ponies, and some real ones in the field behind. Cheers.
