To be fair: that asshole Musk did move several companies out of California and into Texas. However, the news is: he's expanding offices in San Francisco again, probably to be close to the AI tech-bubble epicenter. Techies who can afford to live wherever they want typically don't choose Texas.

We've seen Ukraine intentionally announce news about weapons procurement and capabilities. I assume they do it as a campaign to intimidate Russians while encouraging Ukraine's allies. For example: information about Flamingo missiles supports the narrative that Ukraine can win.

TBH I don't examine every exhibit, but I enjoy the arc. As someone who wouldn't have the patience to compile such a detailed thread complete with branching sidelines and caveats, I'm in awe of you demonstrating what can only be called a "rare super power".

I wholeheartedly agree. I have been voting for only women (when possible) for almost 30 years after reading about the studies of bonobo vs chimpanzee societies.

For 30 years now I've only voted for female candidates when available, modulo due diligence research for red flags. Male politicians tend to be emotionally self centered and lack empathy and are therefore second choice by default.

To be more clear: our hopes and dreams for whatever Trump will do will always lead to disappointment, whether we love or hate him. The best strategy when making Trumpy predictions is solid pessimism, and assume he will always burn Country and World for his own gain.

Jake, I enjoy your analysis on youtube and bluesky but your predictions of Trump's early demise sound like hopium to me. It is reasonable to explore the scenario so carry on but I think there's an 80% chance he'll survive his term while his old-age problems become increasingly apparent.

TBH it looks like the barge was wired to explode. The attack boat was aiming for a painted target directly underneath a shrouded stack of cargo, which is probably a pile of explosives. All to make the drone look more potent than it actually is?

Sure, we all hope Trump will do something "right", but I don't think Trump will get Medieval on Putin's ass over Russia dissing him, so I'm making counter predictions to yours. Someday one of us can say to the other: "I told you so."

Ukraine advances because of its soldiers' heroism and the help of ALL of its allies. US support is merely a part: don't attribute everything to Trump. Meanwhile he is doing bare minimum and for the wrong selfish reasons. The bar for human decency you've set for him is too low. Talk about blindness.

No. Trump is atypical narcissist. He will gladly accept an apparent "black eye" in exchange for personal enrichment. Engineering a "bankruptcy" to exploit tax loopholes is one example. Meanwhile Trump is also a coward, except in the realm of lawsuits. He will disappoint your predictions.
