Appreciating the irony of flash flooding in Perth during the #ClimateAdaptation2025 conference. Look at the length of that storm! The drains in the CBD did not cope.

The forecast for Monday isn't looking good for NSW with the potential for more heavy rain. This is exactly what happened in March 2021, which you can read all about in our paper:

A less-common Eastern US Atmospheric River is currently causing deadly flooding and mudslides across multiple states. A high and low are helping to funnel warm and moist air from the Gulf of Mexico over the Eastern US.

#AustralianOpen players were lucky the tournament didn't face any 40C days this year. But with #ClimateChange, it's becoming more likely. If Monday's forecast is right, Jan 2025 will have 2 days above 40C, which used to only occur during strong El Nino years.
