Making its debut at our block party this year, I have been itching to fabricate a version of a hook and ring game for years. I didn’t want to build a massive frame for it, but then I realized that the city thoughtfully provided a nice solid pole in the median. #chicago

A new one for me: yesterday afternoon a motorist in a white Prius passed me ON THE RIGHT as I rode in the Elston bike lane between Ridgeway and Irving Park. You’ll note the cop car behind him, whom I alerted, but did not get the satisfaction of seeing whether they did anything or not. #bikechi

In the 1990s in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, Leo’s Lunch Room was a hipster diner that served excellent, hearty food. Notably on the weekends they offered an amazing potato onion pie for breakfast. I can still taste it. Have never attempted to replicate it.

I once took a prop plane from Quepos La Managua Airport (XQP), Costa Rica to San Jose, Costa Rica. Walked out onto the runway and boarded via the plane’s own stairs. That was a fun flight. Only went up to 4,000 ft, so we could see everything.
