Saw the movie before the book. “Suo Gan” the welsh lullaby Christian Bale sings as a choir boy in the beginning is one of the most beautiful pieces of music. Don’t forget young John Malcovich too!

W’s of postpartum fevers are:
1.Wind (atelectasis)
2.Water (UTI)
3. Wound (cesarean incision)
4. Walking (septic thrombophlebitis)
5.Wonderdrug (see top of thread)
6. Wammaries (mammary glands aka mastitis or milk letdown) #obsky

Septic thrombophlebitis- seen most often in post-partum patients. Usually they’ve already been placed on triple antibiotics and keep spiking. Until someone goes through the 6 “W” of postpartum pyrexia.

Not spicy at all - good old common sense. GYN married to EM, had to move my surgery cases so my EM husband could get to ACLS class in time. A class taught by his intern from a decade ago.
