A 20-year-old woman in Beijing took a rare step to lose weight, she swallowed capsules believed to contain T. saginata (beef tapeworm) eggs. She was later diagnosed with severe disseminated cysticercosis, a dangerous parasitic infection caused by T. solium (pork tapeworm).
