1) For me, same thing applies with TV as it does to live gigs. I've never been converted to an artist on TV that I never cared for previously. The closest would be seeing Ray Peterson on American Bandstand in the early 70s. He played a newer song I really liked. Later on, I heard his early hits

Offhand, I can't think of an artist I didn't care for until I saw them live. Like most people, I don't go to see headliners I think will suck. The most I can say is I've become a big fan of some artists who were opening acts, but I knew little or nothing of their music before I saw them.

If you're mean something I purchased as a gift, it's a beginner's crochet kit. My daughter, who seems too young to want something like that, actually requested it for Christmas. If you mean the most recent thing I purchased, you're getting a 20 ounce bottle of Diet Mountain Dew! Either way, enjoy!
