Foraging win this morning when I found a patch of motherwort and a patch of goldenrod (not pictured). Motherwort is an herb that helps with heart health and anxiety, I make a tea with it and hawthorn berries. Goldenrod makes a dye, so I'm gonna try dyeing something with it. This shit is so fun istg

Also, I am aware of the limitations of a TDS meter when looking at water filters. Because I am a nerd overachiever, I also dug up these stats comparing the two systems' ability to remove specific contaminants, just to be sure.

Then I measured the water that came out of my ZeroWater filter. ZERO, baby! And now I know that a Brita is not, in fact, fine for purifying water. No, it is not painful to be this nerdy. 😜

I got out my trusty TDS meter to measure total dissolved solids in the water. In the above post, I measured the water coming out of the tap. Here, I measured the water after going through the Brita. Still quite a bit of stuff in the water.

The neighbor lady gave me some marigolds to make a dye, so I did, and they made this gorgeous color. The difference in shade is because the scarf is wool and the bandana is cotton and protein (wool) takes up dye better than cellulose (cotton).
