Experiencing- last days of autumn in the city
Durand Bernarr’s En route album cover. He is sitting in a mustard yellow vintage convertible on a clear blue day. The background is a vista over looking hills. Very artsy. Sets the vibe for the album perfectly. The poster for the TV show Cross. The main character is foregrounded by yellow police tape which emphasizes the word “cross.” Get it? Police tape usually says “ police line do not cross” lol. Very much copaganda. But the main character is quite attractive. The cover of the book Mammy: A Century of Race, Gender, and Southern Memory. The cover art includes a vintage photograph of a young beautiful Black woman holding white baby in her care. Additionally, there is a vintage “mammy” artifact that pisses me off. A photo I took yesterday in Harlem NYC. I think on Edgecombe avenue by St. Nicholas park on my daily walk. It features a regal ginko tree with yellowing leaves in front of a dilapidated aged building of yore. The building is undergoing construction probably. Both the tree and the building are preparing for regrowth. I have an impressive artistic eye.
