If you're in Boulder and want to hear about resisting fascist authoritarianism through joy, I hope you'll swing by Humanities 250, 5:30-6:30pm on Monday, November 3--and if you come at 5:00pm you can grab a slice of pizza compliments of @colorado.edu College of Arts and Sciences Honors Program

Do you have a banana pudding recipe? Will you share it with me? I'm writing an essay on banana pudding for a book "The Southern Table" --feel free to reply to this thread or drop me a DM. Thanks in advance--I'm also making my own banana pudding recipe that I'd be happy to share.

Remember: Don't let them steal your joy. Joy, too, is resistance.

One of the things that brings me joy is being able to walk and look at the mountains, which I'm fortunate to do in Colorado since there's lots of places to walk and so many mountains!

Love is a care package of lemons and avocados from your mother's garden. This is also resistance, because this is joy.

In a world of muskrats it's time to channel your inner Pooh and Piglet. Though to be precise, I'd replace "Republican Party" with "MAGA DOGE"

Found the post they were referring to, which is an article I wrote years ago. Time to put the auto responder on my email and I'll share a link to the piece in case anyone is interested. Glad I got off Twitter.

If you live in Boulder County, CO, these are your 3 representatives. Please call them--once a week. Tell them what you think about what is happening at the Federal level. Encourage them to fight back against fascism. Calling matters. And doing nothing isn't an option.

My PoPo crossed two oceans and a continent to get to Jamaica from Hong Kong. She lived to be 103 in yet a 3rd nation (Canada). She did not have much formal education. She faced many adversities. And if she survived raising 9 children and learning 2 languages, I can at least do my part to resist.

Chaucer's doggie daycare created a holiday photo for us--I'm amazed they were able to get antlers and a bow on him--but the look on his face says it all. Perhaps he's forecasting for 2025. At any rate, if like us you celebrate secular Xmas (which is Christmas minus the X) then Happy Christmas!

I'll raise your wood ducks with a dozen mochi donuts to help in the life sucking category.

(I bought these on election day for my office to help with the anxiety--but I guess they weren't good luck mochi donuts--SIGH)

It was great until it wasn't. And the new terms of service mean I don't want to have Musk use my account to train his AI and I don't want to be sued. I stayed bc I made so many friends, who became friends IRL but the stench of fascism is too much

I've been waiting for the leadership of the CU system/CU Boulder to say something about the election. So I decided if they wouldn't say something then I would because there are ppl who are afraid and anxious. And we need to come together and form communities of care to survive and to fight.

For new Bskiers, esp who are following me. Hi! I generally will follow back most people, especially if you work in higher ed, do anything with writing/social justice/the environment. But if you have a bio that is blank or don't have an image or content I won't follow--just sharing to explain.

I've been silent here, but I'm going to try to post more here since so many ppl are moving here.

I was in a very low place yesterday so I'm putting this here for anyone else feeling very low. Find people you can trust and things/people to inspire you. It's going to be a long haul.

It's a snow day for me (CU Boulder cancelled classes and admin work) and Chaucer is thrilled. I'll make soup later and catch up on email because such is the way of life. It also took me over an hour to plow this morning (some drifts were over a foot) and I'm sure I'll have to plow this afternoon.

Posting here rather than to Twitter--saw this image on a truck that seems to be a Christian business from the reference to New Testament but then has this image on the truck's hood of an Israeli flag being exposed underneath a US flag. This feels very antisemitic but I can't quite parse it--help?

Like an idiot, I left my laptop on a Southwest Flight on Monday coming back home to CO. Using Find My Device I tracked it Monday afternoon/evening going to Tampa and then to MS and OK and when I woke up on Tuesday it was outside Terminal C. This morning it seems to have made its way inside.
