Because “we the people” don’t get what goes into the service aspect of public servants. And I think that’s because the ivory towers have missed some opportunities…

And don’t let it be an integrated setting. You took care of your mental health AND improved your physical health?! That’s so impressive because it. is. HARD. and I know it’s hard and you probably had to overcome obstacles and make dedicated choices over and over?! But you did that. Ugh I love it!

I’m passionate about improving the healthcare experiences and health outcomes of ALL veterans. And I’m incredibly grateful to work with veterans & to teach others how to better engage with folks who’ve served.

I’m also interested in implementation science and equitable implementation. I’ve learned that in health and rehabilitation psychology, a lot of folks get left behind and I’m working to change that!

My clinical interests focus on integrated care settings. I love an interdisciplinary team in a behavioral medicine setting. Primary care and spinal cord injury have been my favorite interdisciplinary settings to date.

My broader research-related populations of interest focus on marginalized groups of veterans and non-veterans including racial/ethnic minority folks, sexual and gender minority folks, and folks with disabilities (especially physical disabilities, spinal cord injuries, and neuromuscular disorders).
