My lord, there’s having penis envy, and then there’s being Pete Hegseth. 😳😳😳

Even the phallic-obsessed Romans are like, my man, stop.

Went to Irish Pub in AC (next door to the Anchor Club) after the Edgar Allen Poe Speakeasy show.

One of these days, I’d like to be a ~50yr-old nerd enjoying days out in historic Philly, silly poetry goth shows, & Irish Pub nights with a date! Definitely did not get the luck of the ☘️ with that. 🙄

Had so much fun in Atlantic City tonight with the troupe delivering an Edgar Allen Poe Speakeasy experience. 4 performances (~15 min each) and 1 cocktail to accompany. What fun!

This is what I love - in 2025, coming together for live performances of 19th c authors!

Enjoy this video of a fat squirrel eating his walnut. I tried shaming him, but, in pure Philly fashion, he just sat there and didn’t give a f**k.

The other night in my class, we spoke about the use of flags in Northern Ireland. We talked about the very nuanced way Americans can use flags, even in contradictory ways. I had to stop and take a pic of this street right in historic Philly. There’s a lot here.

Me, in my happy nerd place walking through historic areas of the city, learning about who walked before.

St. Augustine’s Catholic Church was burned to the ground during 1844 Nativist/Bible riots. The riots led to Philly’s consolidation & new policing structures in the city.

Of course, I had to ask whether there was any idea about what proportion of the Presbyterian/Protestants were Ulster-Scot…

The historic St. George’s Church in Philadelphia is 14ft from the Ben Franklin Bridge.

14 feet from destruction.

What a GREAT morning! Went on my first tour of Philly with the Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides @phillyguides.bsky.social, & boy, was it a fantastic time. Visited some sites relating to religion in the city, guided by David from @dialogueinst.bsky.social

I’ll be further engaging with both!

Well, it’s a good thing Paul and I are not trying to hide an elicit affair from anyone, because, man, I am sure I’ll be finding glitter and little pearl beads for decades in my living room. Besides, Paul and I have decided to keep it strictly platonic given, uh, his current condition. 💀💀💀

Paul is making himself right at home. #GlitterSkeleton
November 13, 2025 at 11:16 PM
Did I buy a 5’ tall bead and glitter-encrusted skeleton on clearance? Yes, yes, I did.

Is more awesome than I thought? Yes, yes, he is.

Did he apparently come with a name? Yes. Paul.

😍😍😍

NJ in the Teams House!

Looking forward to hearing @sophcocooper.bsky.social present the @usihs.bsky.social webinar: “Building to feel ‘at’ home: Embedded:embedding memory in the built environment of Belfast and the diaspora.”

Panera is playing one of Northern Ireland’s unofficial anthems…”and soooooo, Sally can wait, she knows it’s too late as we’re walking on by…”

Meanwhile, I’m up for a refill of #ResearchCoffee & I should order my late lunch soon. Going to eat while watching a webinar on what? Northern Ireland…

My day keeps getting better.

No matter how I tried, I couldn’t get the lid off. Maybe the glue in the safety seal was also sealing the lid. I needed a stronger hand, but didn’t have one.

But I was having this ice cream, god-dammit.

So, I got a knife…

Getting stuff done!

So far,
1) built 1 basement shelf, 2 more to go!

2) 2hr r/t to get dog her pain shot at the vet

3) dropped off clothes at church thrift shop (boxes sitting in living room for 6 months)…

12:30, so now afternoon to go!

For some reason, Potato decided also to claim my shoes.

Civic duty, done ✔️

I’m not being hyperbolic in saying I worry this might the last US election we get to vote in unless we get our act together.

Thank you to all the poll workers out there - you are true public servants. Shame on this administration for using federal agent to intimidate voters.

Proud to be a NJ @aft.org member, and I will always want the best for ALL workers. I hope, one day, we can rebuild union solidarity in this country. Our future will be built by America’s workers, and we should all recognize the threats to our shared success and vote with that in mind.

The question is not “why would you wear a pumpkin fascinator?,” but rather, “why would you not???”

Here on my own, so I’m warming the walls of the dance floor. The upstairs DJ is great! #MütterMuseum #Choreomania

I’m not sure the learned masters at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia ever imagined this in their hallowed halls of medical education. #MütterMuseum
