Chiropractors often have extensive lists of supplement they try to sell. So let me give it a shot…

1. Vitamin D
2. Multivitamins with folic acid (pregnancy related)
3. Protein
4. Creatine

No long lists. Individial needs vary. Consult your healthcare provider before starting any supplement.

Chiropractors often demonize chemicals without discussing the dosage. So let me give it a shot…

1. Tobacco (smoking)
2. Alcohol (drinking)

Many substances can be harmful or harmless depending on the amount.

But, chemicals like tobacco and alcohol, can be harmful to health even at a low dose.

As healthcare professionals, we are often seen as figures of “authority”.

This dynamic can sometimes create a power imbalance, leading to unintended consequences.

We should be mindful of the messages we deliver and avoid fearmongering or using nocebic language.

Don’t listen to doctors/experts… but I’ll listen to a “wellness influencer”.

Don’t trust Big Pharma… but I’ll take ‘natural’ supplements (made by the same companies).

Don’t eat a balanced diet focused on plants… but I’ll go full carnivore and drink raw milk.

The irony is real.

“Vertebral subluxation” does not exist. Any chiropractor who claims they can “realign” a “misaligned” spine either does not know what they’re talking about or is straight up lying.

This is one of the reasons why many don’t take us seriously.

True or false? Misinformation travels faster than truthful information online.

Well here is your answer.

I often criticize and debunk some of the pseudoscientific beliefs within my profession (and health misinformation/misconceptions) using reputable scientific evidence. Through this process, it allows me to reflect and grow as a clinician so that I can better help those around me.
