Psychologist. Psychodynamic theory is my home theory, but I'm eclectically trained and integrative. I love what I do.

All opinions shared here are my own.
Discourse around both of these won't be easy, but I think they can help people.

..my interest does pertain to myself. My wife is chronically ill, and I bear witness to and help her in the ways this impacts her life. To put it simply: do specific economic world views impact how we understand ourselves? Is this why many chronically ill people take such blows to their self-esteem?

...and think about what these mean about us. What does it say about someone when they play a certain game? Identify with this character? Love that novel?

I'm also very interested in the interplay between health, our economic views, and how we understand ourselves...

I've actually intentionally avoided having a "professional" social media presence for a long time. I figured now was a good time to try it out.

I don't know what I'm doing, but I'm going to walk into this unknown and figure it out.

I truly love people, and that love helped me find my calling. I was *made* to help people. I am fortunate that I get to do that as my job, and that I get to love my job and remain passionate about it.

I try to approach things as a confident scientist. Confident enough to make theories, believe in them, and *test* them, humble enough to quickly toss them aside when they're wrong. Being wrong is the first step on the road to getting it right for the sake of a person's growth.

I've been practicing since 2019 and have had a pretty wide breadth of experiences. I've worked with severe mental illness, dual diagnosis, forensic populations, hospitals and systems, college counseling, children, and more. It's been a wonderful and humbling experience.

Their courage, their grit. Their feelings and determination to own them, as difficult as it may be. I feel most at home in psychodynamic theory, but am well-trained in many forms of CBT, family systems, and more. Most of my work now revolves around therapy for PTSD and substance use disorders.
