I’m a writer, researcher, consultant. A teacher at heart, education, diversity and kindness is my jam. 💕
If there is literally one guy at the top who is giving us pointers from a vantage point we don’t usually see, it’s Mark. You’d think dem strategists would be taking notes and ensuring that our DNC platform reflected some of this advice. He is around monied MAGA all the time. Take notes, Jeffries!

This platform is exhausting bc even progressive people are knocking other progressives. This level of divide is unsustainable. I just jumped in a convo on my 1st thread and the close mindedness and inability to hear others is a lost skill even on Blue Sky. It’s like X over here. Every1 coming in 🔥

No I don’t. But what’s that got to do with anything? You’re fighting a system that has existed for 400 yrs. Any1 who has been other has never been treated equally. Race & gender have always been the great divide in 🇺🇸. This is exactly why Cuban needs to be in the room schooling.

Sports disarms them. Water cooler talk disarms them.

Joe Rogan and these guys have a captive audience of SOME well meaning Americans who don’t know where else to go bc they speak to them in a way they understand. If you have Cuban go on to fact check these guys, it will have a greater effect on the population that needs to hear it.

So that’s what you got from this post. Noted. Lol -signed, Lifelong DEI advocate

We ARE different which is why listening is a skill and teaching is a skill that can can come from us. It’s 100 percent thankless heart work but the bigger person isn’t available at the moment in the White House.

Those are great resources to offer. Billionaire doesn’t mean he can’t perhaps learn from you? but people comin in 🔥 on this platform lol This is why dialogue is important. This is my first thread in Bluesky and it’s got X vibes for sure—But of the blue hue. Hard to have convos here.

But I agree with you. My entire life has been devoted to diversity equity and inclusion and it’s being called illegal. So to shoot down other people and call them your fellow citizens without fully reading an entire thread makes us very similar to those that want to be an echo chamber.

I certainly don’t support Nazis, and this is exactly what is wrong with the world 😂 Everything amiss and written off with no logical pause or character to really take in what others say. We are killing our own species this way.

Clearly anything I said was amiss.

I am the last person on earth trying to give pundits who speak nonsense any credit, but if we keep burying our heads in the sands and don’t have enough of the character it requires to care, then this division continues. MLK humanized people that hated him. Our culture has lost its moral center.

And that is the charm I found in you 😂 Rolling in glass 😂 And no, access isn’t equal everywhere. I taught in Hawaii to a majority indigenous population and we have treated both teachers and students so poorly in this country, access to water, electricity and education is no where near accessible.

Science is my jam, so why don’t you experiment? The level I’m talking about is human to human. Start there. See if you can question long enough to get to the root. I’ve changed minds before, and it’s so fun. It’s like catching fish! 😂 Socratic method. Ask them questions.

We all didn’t grow up intelligent. We went to school and learned. Or had people teach us or had natural gifts. The compassion of 4th grader needs to be extended to all humans unless they are intentionally disrespectful. They would be interesting to probe and fun to have a beer with.

Gotcha! Yes— and it’s demoralizing to voters to say that.
January 23, 2025 at 11:59 AM
Yes, root cause is judgment and belief that they can’t learn differently. That’s my point. We teach through convo and engagement. I’m learning from you as we speak, and I’m not better than anyone else. Cuban has that right. He isn’t judging; he’s engaging them and meeting peeps where they are at

The fact that you called it dumbed down is where we disagree. It’s creating a rung on a ladder to climb. The brain is malleable and can learn. I worked in the neuroscience of learning when I went to Johns Hopkins. We literally changed brains through trauma informed teaching methods. They can learn.

Walmart guy I quit on but there are a lot of not Walmart guys I’d spend my time with lol

I’ve made many inroads as a HS teacher with avg reading scores of 4th grade for my seniors. We scaffold content so they can grasp a rung on the ladder. It’s about speaking in simple relatable terms that are non judgmental. I can see the charm in most people and I find the common ground there.

I grew up in a very republican community, so I’ve had the pleasure. LOL I don’t engage with those that have zero hope— I agree. I engage with the curious ones or the ones who can answer a question with some semblance of linear ability. It takes engagement and time and rapport building for sure.
January 23, 2025 at 11:20 AM
So do I, but I’m interested in the root cause of why they do it so we can fix it. We assume they know what they are doing or have the capacity. Keep divesting in education and this is how the homosapien acts; With their lizard brain. Education enhances frontal lobe behavior and judicious choices.
