Mr. Iglesias is a phenomenal author but I so appreciate that he shares artwork from artists that broaden my horizons and explore me to more art. So I will attempt here to imitate him. If you are not familiar with artist Zdzisław Beksiński (1929-2005), here is an untitled painting of his.

My daughter played Paulette in Legally Blonde this weekend- it was the role she wanted and she knocked it out of the park. I am a proud dad -she has talents on stage I never had or got near. Proud dad moment. She also designed her own jeans for the play- I watched her apply the additions myself.

Will I dress as a Ghostbuster again? Yes, of course, but 10 years ago, so did my boy… a photo from the past… still makes me smile.

Gurney Norman has passed away. One of the most encouraging human beings of my fiction writing. I have only had one story published since I took his class 20+ years ago, but his lessons on being who you are even informed my dissertation. Thanks, Prof. Norman for those office hours. This one hurts.

I need to become exceedingly wealthy just so I can have an office with these as the doors so I can have a proper entrance. (Thankful that I got to see the original at the Musée d'Orsay while in Paris).

It was made LinkedIn official with this image so I’ll share it here. Thanks to USM for the experiences and phenomenal colleagues, now on to Butler… “to serve all my days.”

I was in an odd mood and Voight Kampffed (nerd reference) an AI I was encouraged to use by a colleague until it said these things (it invoked the trolley):

Scientifically speaking, I most likely won’t have to worry about a long retirement because I know my family history, but the proposed deduction of 6% from my current retirement seems like a change to my employment that is unfair even if legally possible. I just wanted to teach and serve all my days.

Like many faculty, I deal with impostor syndrome. Still, with help from our study abroad office, I’m leading graduate and doctoral students on an education abroad for our online programs in higher education for the 2nd time. Sometimes I am reminded of what I can do & realize I may not be an impostor

The study abroad I lead has now visited Oxford and Cambridge, so the English medieval universities are done! Glad that Southern Miss ( #SMTTT ) supports this type of opportunities!

Packing for the History of Education in England study abroad I teach. I will spend 90% of it teaching or squeezing in research, so it is not a vacation BUT this is the second year in a row I have been able to teach abroad. Honored to be able to coordinate this experience with Study Abroad. #SMTTT

Joseph Beth is one of my favorite bookstores-some good friends got me a gift card. I have been putting off buying books because I am traveling abroad for work, but bookstore gift cards are a sign, right? Finally got the Ellison one that will leave me in tears and a history one my wife found for me.

Pretty sure Bethesda released this today to make me work hardest on grading so I will feel okay playing it… cause I am a fanboy of a certain age and with a certain set of skills, but I owe my students my attention first … so we wait… and grade… and reward ourselves with this later…
