In June, we borrowed an Ioniq 5 for a trip to Oregon, where we spent 4 days rafting on the Rogue River. We paid for charging using ChargePoint credits that were part of the car purchase. We loved the Ioniq’s long range, fast charging, safety features, and spacious interior. 🚙⚡️🌲

We are sad to share that the tax credits for $7,500 off the price of a new EV, and $4,000 off the price of a used EV are ending after 9/30/2025, so now is a great time to buy electric! 🚗⚡️

Our favorite things about the Ioniq 5:

⚡️ shows speed limits and if you’re going too fast
⚡️ warns you if turning into an occupied lane
⚡️ smooth and comfortable for long trips
⚡️ great range (displays 352 miles)
⚡️ charges very fast (217+ kW)

On April 26th, we participated in our local Earth Day Festival. We had our 2017 Chevy Bolt and 1985 Toyota pickup conversion, Val, on display. It really warmed our hearts how many people enjoyed seeing Val and hearing her conversion story! ❤️

Why I Love Val the Electric Truck

With electric power, it’s easy to creep Val up a steep driveway using just one pedal.

When I (John) was younger, carrying loads slowly up hills in gas trucks was often a challenge. So, when Val shows her EV stuff like this, it’s a huge relief - a little Val magic.
