Had a friend post an opinion about something on TikTok and watched as she got drowned out by music she did not add to the video. The more she spoke, the louder the music got.

The circumstances of my life meant I showed up 20 years late for all my fandoms. Sometimes, trying to find acceptance among them is frustrating. Is it possible to be too different? Or what if your circumstances were more difficult than everyone's? Shouldn't I still be worthy of acceptance?

I remember when I was young and playing AD&D with the kids down the street, our sessions were "Must See" before we knew what "Must See" was. All we wanted to do was save the world.

We got old, but the ideas didn't.

This is how you become a writer: just pick one of the things that is deeply wrong with you. Make it a character. Now send it on a self-help journey or try to kill it. Now call it a book.
