She lives up to the hype! But I was mostly blown away by how well crafted it is (there are multiple storylines and they’re slightly out of order). I’m not usually into horror but loved the storytelling.

I have to watch 4 to complete the Best Picture category, plus a few standouts in other categories.
I hope this is finally PTA’s year 🤞 (he’s 0 for 11 right now).

Yep! It played in theaters for one night only. I actually thumbnailed a comic about it (to be posted in 2026 hopefully) since it was such an interesting experience.

Add me to the list of people who didn’t get it before now!
I’m so bad with puns. It took me 20+ years to realize this Cure song is labeled “Tree Mix” because it rhymes with “remix.”

This is a permanent part of my drawing process now:
- draw one panel
- pick up phone and start writing a social media post saying that I’m quitting comics
- cancel post and put phone down
- draw next panel…

Here are two of mine (junior high and high school). Seeing them again makes me really nostalgic.

Another takeaway was that Fiona Apple is in the end credits 4 times:
1. Contributed music
2. Worked on Claudia Gator’s painting that’s shown towards the end of the movie
3. Listed 1st on “special thanks”
4. The film is dedicated to her and Paul’s dad Ernie Anderson (“for fa and ea”)
