Te Tiriti was born as a shield for Māori and a restraint on British settlers. The 1837 Report of the Select Committee on Aborigines exposed, with painful clarity, the violence and exploitation settlers were inflicting not only here in Aotearoa but across the Empire.

Once again, right‑wing politics and New Zealand First are using our communities as bargaining chips. Whether Māori, Asian, Indian, or Chinese, we are treated as expendable, a convenient pawn pulled out every election cycle, as if our rights, our dignity, and our futures can be traded away for votes.
