Unfortunately...I'm a Hibernian Supporter.
Here's hoping it doesn't clash with a Hibs match in Europe!

I actually visited that very vineyard circa 15 years ago on a press trip. It's a wonderful region with some fine wines (and hospitality).

Sorry, Stu. Not a favourite of mine.

Even their best stuff is shite.

That truly is a great family shot. Not a wheelie bin in sight nor any disabled parking spaces.

Breathe in and relax.

I think there's only one pub in the village. The food has been exceptional for a number of years. It backs onto the shoreline (God...I wish I was sipping a pint there now).

It's possibly the best restaurant in the Central Belt. Especially the lighting and decor :-)

There's a very nice pub in Culross that also serves excellent food. A hidden gem.

I was originally from Bo'ness. I'm friendly with Anne Davidson at the Champney Inn (Linlithgow) and I supplied her with all her decor and light fittings. Not been north for 18 months since my mother died...but Anne wants a chandelier for the restaurant that I have to hand. I'm not posting it!

Indeed!

I've been down south for close on 40 years and the centre is in Sawbridgworth. I'm friendly with the owner as we own greyhounds together and I only pay a peppercorn rent.

Don't tell anyone... but 1.5k sales last month which is above average.

BTW - Print out and keep the reply from the gallery and adhere it to the back of the painting. The confirmation by the artist speaks volumes to any re-sale (or inheritance).

If you've bought it to keep and admire, then regardless of the price, you've picked up a bargain that will probably only cost pennies a day in the scheme of things.

FWIW - I have a small gallery space in an antique centre and the key is rotating stock. I'm heading there Tuesday with a dozen new.

I buy to sell (not an easy way to make a fast buck) but I've made the fatal mistake of becoming attached to two artworks I don't want to part with. One is actually my avatar here. A 19th century painting by James Digman Wingfield. Came from a country house and cost £2k in 1973 at auction.

I guarantee you'll get a reply within 48 hours.

Not a criticism, but the frame doesn't work for me with the artwork. You're eye is drawn more to the frame than the actual artwork. I re-frame numerous pictures a week and it makes a huge difference.

Please keep me posted.

A lot of artists have links to specific galleries who are always willing to cooperate with the public. It's a friendly marketplace...if you can decipher the original signature!!
February 2, 2025 at 8:35 PM
It certainly looks right and you're probably correct. If you want confirmation direct from the artist, contact Buckingham Fine Art: admin@bucksfineart.co.uk

They can get in touch with the artist and may well come back with the actual location of the landscape.

A better picture of the signature would be great. I deal in artwork and I should be able to confirm for you. Is it on board or canvas?
