It's weird almost we're building a social life where phones and pictures aren't a thing. Absolutely wonderful evening at the local club eating chestnuts celebrating "Magusto" with lots of moonshine and wine and laughs and nobody to document it. Back to basics and all that.

Some modest weekend openings tonight. A homebrew and a Letra Pumpkin Weizener. Not bad. Our Blond surely holds its own against commercial. Makes me think to start brewing bigger sooner... But the paperwork.....

Kicked my arse out of the door in between the rain. Did the 6km lap with the BIG Hill and managed to run with 5.57min/km! Huge improvement compared to the first time I did it with 6.48min/km! 🤘my metal play list kept me proper going 🤘 #running #RunningPunks

Tomorrow we'll see more than 60mm of rain here. Code red and all that. Big autumn storm #Claudia rolling in and it's already windy.
Hopefully the trees will survive. We already have three from last season to still process 🥹🫠 but at least we finished our next-door wood storage so won't get soaked.

Speaking of grapes. We made a mistake with our wine fermenting (too much headspace) so combined two vessels to minimise infection risk.
We had a bit more than the one vessel so now sampling a pre-conditioning wine that's already at 11% and it is not bad!! 🤘🤞

We had a bit more than the one vessel so now sampling a pre-conditioning wine that's already at 11% and it is not bad!! 🤘🤞

Good news: dropped to the exact gravity
Medium news: the figs not really tasted as of yet. Who knows more after further conditioning and carbonation.

Our first attempt at wine making.
Two days between them for the first fermentation, but we know we won't have time to do the other Monday. Quite a gravity drop difference, but both not vinegar, so that's a positive. It tasted rather nice already actually! And now we wait until bottling!

Almost looks like nothing but it's 2.5kg of our own red wine grapes. Have yet to figure out the variety. It's now in the fermenter with the wort. Let's see in 2 to 3 weeks what has happened! 🤘💪🤞

Another experiment today. We have Kveik yeast, 3.5kg pils, 1kg wheat, 500g Vienna, 500g Cara pils and... 2.5kg of red wine grapes into primary....! Lots of could have/should haves on the malt bill, but let's see what we end up with.

De #Stemwijzer maar eens ingevuld. Na de tiebreaker kom ik blijkbaar op de Partij voor de Dieren uit.
Ik heb nog nooit op ze gestemd. Ik ga er nog een paar nachtjes over slapen.... Verder wel een mooie sticker voor m'n Woke verzameling!
