The best part of an espresso machine is espresso martinis at home
A rather terrible picture of an espresso martini with a demitasse and a cocktail shaker in the background. I inherited an 80's era La Pavoni espresso machine and after I rehabbed it, it has been a game changer for morning coffee. And now, evening coffee!

The upgrade
A picture of the FreshRoast SR800, an electric air roaster for coffee. There's a dark brown block of wood on the top to prevent the lid from flapping and spewing coffee chaff all over the room. There's also a Braun coffee grinder in front of it that obviously needs cleaning.

Just put a small barrel bolt on the cupboard that we were keeping cat stuff in, because a certain gator would open it and shred food and treat bags.

For Christmas Stewie 🐈 got Ollie (gray cat), Ollie got a home and Bugsy 🐈‍⬛ got peace. Merry X-Men to you all.
Three cats in a cuddle puddle. Small gray cat is Oliver, the tabby is Stuart and Bugsy is the black cat. Stewie has Ollie to play with now so Bugsy can relax and not feel so harassed all of the time. Bugsy is 15, Stewie is 1 and Ollie is 4 months. Ollie is the control rod in our nuclear family.

Our eldest cat is getting medication for his hyperthyroidism, a gel that we rub in his ear, alternating ears daily.

We put in a reminder for which ear, and every other day, my wife and I sing 🎶 RIGHT EAR RIGHT NOW 🎶 to each other and giggle.

Bugsy, the cat in question, is a mutt that seems to tick all of the qualities of the Bombay breed. Here he is sitting in my wife's lap, looking at the camera with absolute bedroom eyes. He is almost 15.

I drove my wife's cats from SF to PDX when she moved here ~10 years ago. Bugsy sang the song of his people for about 2.5hs, well after we had passed the exit to Sacramento. That there is true love, I tell you.
Our late cat Capone in the foreground and Bugsy in the background. Bugsy is a shorthaired black cat, Capone is a floofy tuxedo cat. Bugsy is loud as hell and either his internal monologue has been externalized or he uses echolocation, not sure which is true.
