This is a Hen of the Woods, an edible mushroom that grows by the base of older oaks/maples in October. It doesn't have dangerous lookalikes, making it one of the safer (and most delicious) mushrooms to forage in New England. I fry it in butter until just crispy. #foraging #mushroom #henofthewoods

Birds who are not my bird. There was a nest of baby Robin's in a local plant store's greenhouse. They were ery hungry and very sleepy.

Herbert is quite the acrobat when it suits him. He's working hard to get a cashew out of that toy.
