To take in "trillions", tariffs would have to be much higher. 2T$/227B= 881%

And if you spent all of the $227B of tariffs on those $2000 checks, that's only 113.5 million checks. Who will be the lucky ones?

Doing the quick math, that's $227B/$2000=113.5 million people getting the $2000 checks. Of course that assumes we don't use any of the tariffs on absolutely anything else, including what we normally spent tariffs on.

Who are TFG's chosen few?

What do you want to bet that there is something political in how the airports are targeted?

Downey 19,143 to Green 18,032 at 10:39.

The biggest still-missing results look like they are the early voting in York County, while the early voting in the other localities seem to break Democratic. If that holds, the spread will widen.

I wonder how many of these sorts of things Patel's group is monitoring, while waiting for the right holiday moment?

I'm in Virginia. I use my "employee ID card" for voting. It has a photo, job title, and name, ID number, and no address.

Self employed folks in VA could print their own Voter ID if they like.

The groups.indivisible.org map easily drilled down to my local indivisible. I clicked through to the local's calendar, expecting to find an aspirational, nearly empty calendar, and was surprised there is a lot of opportunity.

There is stuff to do today and tomorrow.

Some GOP thief-neighbor stole my #VA_HD69 sign for @downeyforva.com

I'm going to donate more money and put up another sign.

#NoKings 2025-10-18 #VA01 in Williamsburg, VA. I didn't notice any commercially printed astroturf signs--100% organic, putting the lie to the administration, once again.

(There were a plenty of negative #VA01 #RobWittman signs -- Vote @downeyforva.com.)

I hate the Mac Mail Apple Intelligence summaries of email threads and was glad to find this way of disabling it:

When I look through the list of emails I don't want to have to read a novel sentence for each email, I want the author's (poorly?) chosen words.
