But my biggest gripe with this series is killing off the ONLY interesting character on the team - Rawls. Like... what the hell was wrong with you writers/producers/whoever the hell took this decision???

if anyone's seen Fish Police (which is a hilarious satire on the genre), this is what i missed!
back to Ballard - it feels just too current. Bosch was set in present day too, but the feel was different. Maybe because he was old school and wasn't afraid to shove it in our faces all the time.

speaking of worse shows, even Marginal service did it better (where Miyano also voiced the titular character). the team worked because each of them had various thoughts and feels about the others. this made it interesting and also gave incentive to the fans to go wild. After 11 ep of Lazarus,

They could have made something with this - like create a conflict, up the animosity, idk. Instead, they made everyone on this team tolerate each other which was a horrible decision. Noone beefing/hating/liking anyone, this just kills the interactions imo. Worse shows got it right, come on!

It had all the potential to be great. But instead, I found the politics too nonsensical and drawn out, and the fucking mystery aspect drowned somewhere amidst bland characters and horrible dubbing efforts.
Like, take this guy - he looks cool so I guess they thought THAT alone would suffice.
