Also re: "skeletal animation is expensive" I mean that relative to a non-skeletal mesh. Compared to many graphics tasks, it's still pretty cheap overall, though scales badly to lots of instances (like large crowds) without complex optimizations.

This is (kinda) why you don't see squash and stretch animation much in games. Skeletal animation is expensive, and if you can eliminate unused transforms, that saves memory/performance. You can often get away with stretch/squashing the whole object instead of individual bones.

We're targeting the big market of "people who need to borrow $500 in an emergency but won't miss $25+ in fees" ... what do you mean "predatory"?

Yeah like being mad at the communication around it seems justified regardless of the decision. Having the user disappear when temporarily banned definitely feels like a part of this site still constantly feeling like a beta lol

I'm basically subskeeting (hate that) redditors that are crashing out that they waited years based on rumors and it doesn't have their exact desired feature list, like my god I hope you are never in charge of product design, go outside

And by god you should

I went from wireless Quest 3, to wired Quest 3 (Ethernet), to Bigscreen Beyond 2e (wired+lighthouses) and every step was better quality, but led to me using VR less, because every tiny bit of added friction makes it feel more like a chore to use. Valve seems to understand that.
